These aren't classroom courses. You'll be out on the water from day one, learning practical skills in a real-world environment.
Our RYA Sailing Level 1 course is the perfect starting point. It's designed for complete beginners and will teach you all the basics of sailing in a safe and supportive environment.
Each RYA Sailing Level (1, 2, and 3) is typically delivered as a 2-day (16-hour) course, usually over a full weekend.
Not at all! Level 1 will give you a great foundation. Many people choose to progress to Level 2 to become a more independent sailor, while Level 3 is for those wanting to master advanced techniques.
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 is the core qualification that teaches you how to drive a powerboat safely. The RYA Safety Boat course is an advanced qualification for those who already hold Level 2, teaching you how to rescue other craft (like dinghies or windsurfers).
No prior experience is needed! The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course is suitable for complete beginners aged 16 and over.
We provide all specialist equipment, including wetsuits and buoyancy aids. You just need to bring swimwear to wear under the wetsuit, a pair of old trainers you don't mind getting wet, and a towel.
We can sail and powerboat in most conditions (including rain!). The only time we can't go on the water is during very high winds or thunderstorms. If this happens, we will contact you to reschedule.
All our RYA courses run from the Trafford Water Sports Centre at Sale Water Park.
