Enjoy a fantastic activity experience giving you a taste of outdoor adventure.

Quench your thirst for adventure with one or more of the many activities we have on offer, whether it’s a private lesson in the form of a mini or family adventure, your first go on a paddleboard, a birthday party, or a treat for a loved one. It could even be a group booking such as a corporate day out or a school and youth group, whatever it is,  we have you covered!

Our land activities are suitable for ages 4+ and our water activities are suitable for ages 7+.

No matter what type of booking all specialist instruction and equipment is provided.

Please note, we do not provide wetsuits.

Archery

 

 

 

Available at our Trafford & Chasewater sites:

Do you fancy yourself as an undiscovered Robin Hood?

Archery is a fantastic opportunity for participants of various ages to develop concentration, co-ordination, control and precision. Participants use a traditional bow to hit a target, which is geared to their age range and ability. As with all our outdoor activities, before the session our fully qualified instructors provide a thorough safety briefing on the equipment and activity.

As well as at four of our sites we also have mobile archery equipment which means we can deliver sessions at events throughout the UK – please call on 01782 22226 to enquire today!

 

Abseiling

Available at offsite locations:

In this activity, participants will climb to the top of the chosen abseiling location. You will then slowly step back over the edge of the area for a controlled descent. Our fully trained and experienced instructors will support and encourage each participant to navigate down the wall, creating a sense of achievement.

 

 

 

Axe Throwing

Available at Astbury Watersports Centre & Chasewater Activity Centre.

Our outdoor axe throwing sessions are a great way to let off some steam, get some exercise and have a great day out with friends, family and colleagues of all ages.

We will kit you up with an axe appropriate to your height and weight to ensure you get the best out of the challenge. Not only that but friendly competitions and games can be set within your session.

Available to book through our Instructed sessions or as an activity on any of our group bookings, get in touch today to book!

Each range consists of 2 targets, with 2 people throwing axes at a time. An instructor can work with up to 10 participants.

Bushcraft

 

 

Available at our Astbury, Trafford & Chasewater sites:

Bushcraft is an exciting, adventure activity that teaches participants a wide range of skills necessary to survive in the wild! Participants will experience how to be resourceful and work together to complete tasks.

Various skills will be taught from constructing a shelter using natural materials, safely building and lighting a fire, foraging for food and sourcing safe, drinkable water.

This activity also provides participants with important life skills such as team work, communication, problem solving, creative and innovative thinking.

 

Climbing - Outdoor

 

Available through our Audley site and at our Underbank site:

We have multiple options when it comes to climbing here at Peak. We have our outdoor climbing tower that is available at our Underbank centre in Sheffield, this is a fixed tower that can be included in your day of activities.

We also have our Introduction to Outdoor Climbing that runs from Roaches Gate and Windgather with the staff from our centre in Audley. To check availability please click here.

Whichever type of climbing you choose the activity will develop the participant’s confidence, determination and sense of achievement.

 

Canoeing

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

A canoe is a vessel which is controlled by a single-bladed paddle where you sit in an upright position either on your own or in a tandem. Each participant is securely fitted with a buoyancy aid prior to venturing out onto the water. We use Canadian canoes which cater for 2-3 participants per vessel.

Each session will start with basic land safety including how to use the paddle, fit a buoyancy aid and how to stay safe on the water. For a beginners group we will provide knowledge of how to control the vessel on the water and finish with a mini race or games. For intermediate groups we will provide more technical information such as being confident in the water, rescue skills, safety leadership and group skills.

 

Climbing - Indoor

 

Available at our Audley site:

Our site in Audley is home to our indoor climbing walls and bouldering room. With routes that are changed weekly, there is always a new one for you to try. Our climbing centre is great for all-weather exercise and training and is perfect for people who don’t fancy climbing in the great outdoors.

As with our outdoor climbing options, the activity will develop the participant’s confidence, determination and sense of achievement.

We now also have a bouldering wall available at Chasewater Activity Centre.

 

Kata Kanuing

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

A Kata Kanu is a vessel that allows up to 6 participants to venture out onto the water without the fear of capsizing. This is similar to 2 canoes rafted together also known as rafted canoeing.

This activity will promote team work and self confidence whilst out on the water. Participants will have to work together to get from A to B out on the water.

Kayaking

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

A kayak is a vessel which is controlled by a double bladed paddle where you sit in an upright position. Each participant is securely fitted with a buoyancy aid prior to venturing out onto the water. We use two types of kayaks: Sit on top kayak & closed cockpit kayak.

Each session will start with basic land safety including how to use the paddle, fit a buoyancy aid and how to stay safe on the water. For a beginners group we will provide knowledge of how to control the vessel on the water and finish with a mini race or games. For intermediate groups we will provide more technical information such as being confident in the water, rescue skills, safety leadership and group skills.

 

Orienteering & Challenge Orienteering

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

During this activity, participants will learn how to use equipment such as compasses and practice basic map reading skills. Participants must navigate their way around the course, working as a team and using only a map to find various checkpoints. Orienteering develops teamwork, problem solving and leadership skills.

Challenge orienteering takes on a twist as in teams there are team building challenges at each check point to help you move further on and complete the course.

 

Raft Building & Marooned Raft Building

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

Raft building with Peak combines problem solving, team building, beautiful locations and lots of water based antics. You and your team will be required to build a seaworthy vessel from barrels, logs and rope provided by us, with some hilarious consequences and challenges!

Marooned raft building is available at our Trafford site and involves you been taken over to the island in the middle of the water before you build your raft and attempt to get back to solid ground.

 

RYA Sailing

 

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

This activity is ideal for anyone who would like an introduction to the sport. Participants will learn how to use a sail and the wind to propel a single hulled boat on the water.

Scrambling & Weaseling

 

Available offsite with our team:

One of the sites we visit is the The Roaches in the Staffordshire Moorlands region of the Peak District National Park to begin your rock scrambling adventure.Overlooking Tittesworth Water join us on this natural obstacle course for scrambling and “weaseling.”

Led by our experienced and fully qualified Peak Leaders you will be guided on a fantastic scramble from the lower tier towards the trig point. With plenty of exciting challenges and obstacles to climb under, over, and squeeze through, participants of all ages are sure to have a brilliant day to remember!

Stand Up Paddleboarding

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is the fastest growing sport in the industry. The sport combines the skills of the participants with the ability to stand on the board using a paddle to propel themselves. This activity takes some practice and is great for developing balance but also develops the participants resilience.

 

Mega Stand Up Paddleboard

 

 

Available at our Astbury & Trafford sites:

New for 2022 is the Mega SUP — a giant, at 17’0 long and 60″ wide, the Mega SUP is designed to carry not one, but a large group of riders. As many as eight people can fit on this super-sized board and paddling as a group is a fun, sociable, and great exercise. It’s a great way for introducing all ages to water sports as well as a classroom on the water. This vessel is ideal for school, youth groups, and corporate team-building activities.

With a selection of mental and physical challenges we can promise sure fire comedy moments, great for stag and hen parties or to build relationships in school or corporate environments.

There are endless routes to enjoy in and around The Peak District National Park and your friendly, qualified Peak Leader will guide you on the best route to suit your ability. Peak’s guided walks can also combine the use of navigation skills and informative practical advice on being safe in the hills. This is a great way to spend time in the outdoors and a fun day for all ages and abilities leaving you feeling energised and refreshed.
