Welcome to August! We hope you are having a lovely summer so far. It’s the perfect time of the year for you and your family to enjoy the activities at our centres. Read on to see what Peak Pursuits have on offer at our centres this month.
Summer Holiday Activities:
Our summer holiday activities for children have started at Astbury and Trafford Water Sports Centre and Audley Climbing Centre. The activity days at Underbank Activity Centre will be starting on Monday 12th August until Friday 30th August. Places are filling up fast, but we still have availability so get in touch with our Sales office for all centres by calling 01782 722 226.
Summer Holiday Activity Days are a great way of keeping your children active through the summer holidays in a fun, safe and social environment. We have a range of land and water-based activities available at Astbury, Trafford and Underbank. Each day has 2 unique and challenging activities for just £25 per child per day.
Also, through the summer holidays, Audley Climbing Centre are offering fun and instructed climbing sessions for children aged 4-14. These climbing sessions run from 2pm – 3:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 10am – 11:30am on Saturdays and Sundays until the 1st September 2019. These sessions are perfect rain or shine as it’s indoors and are only £6 per child per day. To see our activity schedule for all centres, please see our school holiday brochures.
Our Treetop Adventure centres in Trentham and Trafford are also a perfect day out for children and adults alike! You can use our online booking system on this website to find availability and get 10% off! Both centres are open daily over the summer from 10am. Last sessions for the day are at 6pm at Trentham and 7pm at Trafford.
Courses:
We have a lot of courses available throughout August! These are accredited by professional bodies such as the Royal Yachting Association. For more information on each course at our centres, please see our Courses page on this website.

Boat Hire:
We also have boat hire available at both Astbury and Trafford Water Sports Centre. No previous experience is required and we give you all the equipment you need so you can have an oar-some time!
Trafford Water Sports Centre:
At Trafford Water Sports Centre (based at Sale Water Park), our boat hire is available every day until Sunday 1st September, 10am with last hire at 4pm. Boat hire will still be available after 1st September at weekends and school holidays. No advanced booking is required so you can be entirely spontaneous on that day off where you have nothing planned! You can choose from canoes, kayaks, katakanoes, stand-up paddleboards and rowing boats. Prices range from £10 – £20 per boat per hour depending on which boat you would like. Vessels may vary between Monday-Friday due to our summer holiday programme running but there will always be a vessel that can be hired. Just pop into our centre and ask us for whatever floats your boat!
Astbury Water Sports Centre:
Children and adults alike can make waves every weekend with our boat hire at Astbury Water Sports Centre in Congleton, Cheshire. We offer 2 boating sessions at Astbury. Firstly, you can get involved in our ‘Let’s Go Paddling’ sessions every weekend including the August Bank Holiday! You can choose from kayaks, canoes or katakanoes which range from £10 – £20 per vessel per hour. We have hourly slots available from 10am with last hire at 3pm. We can only allow a maximum of 8 people per session so it’s best to book in advance. To see what booking times we offer, please click here. Alternatively, you can take part in our Canoe Club every Sunday morning at Astbury. This is a great opportunity to develop your paddling skills for obtaining paddling awards. We run a session for under 16’s at 10am-11am and then a session for adults at 11am-midday. Sessions are just £6 per person. You can also purchase a work booklet for £5 and a certificate for £10 to inspire and record your progress. Our instructors will sign off skills towards the British Canoeing Paddle Awards.
