Bell Boating

Available at our Chasewater site:

New for 2022 at Chasewater.  Bell Boats are really stable boats, so they’re brilliant to introduce people to water sports. They’re made from two long, narrow, canoe-like boats that are attached together with a platform in the middle. Bell Boats are great for practicing teamwork, as they’re paddled by up to 12 people. People use single-bladed paddles to paddle the boat through the water. Bell-boating is fun and rewarding and can be used in outdoor education, expeditions, and competition. Its purpose is to remove the fear of taking part and to help with teamwork and co-operation. It’s a great way for introducing all ages to water sports as well as a classroom on the water.  This vessel is ideal for school, youth groups, and corporate team building activities.

Bushcraft

Available at our Astbury, Trafford, Chasewater, Underbank & Trentham sites:

Bushcraft is an exciting, adventure activity that teaches participants a wide range of skills necessary to survive in the wild! Participants will experience how to be resourceful and work together to complete tasks.

Various skills will be taught from constructing a shelter using natural materials, safely building and lighting a fire, foraging for food and sourcing safe, drinkable water.

This activity also provides participants with important life skills such as team work, communication, problem solving, creative and innovative thinking.

Canoeing

Available at our Astbury, Trafford, & Underbank sites:

A canoe is a vessel which is controlled by a single-bladed paddle where you sit in an upright position either on your own or in a tandem. Each participant is securely fitted with a buoyancy aid prior to venturing out onto the water. We use Canadian canoes which cater for 2-3 participants per vessel.

Each session will start with basic land safety including how to use the paddle, fit a buoyancy aid and how to stay safe on the water. For a beginners group we will provide knowledge of how to control the vessel on the water and finish with a mini race or games. For intermediate groups we will provide more technical information such as being confident in the water, rescue skills, safety leadership and group skills.
